Korres Wild Rose Cleanser - Review
Korres Daily Brightening and Refining Buff Cleanser
With spring officially upon us (finally!), I'm focusing on exfoliating, cleansing pores, and overall keeping skin glowing and bright.  I've used the Korres Yogurt product previously and was looking forward to dabbling into the Korres Wild Rose line.  On my most recent Sephora trip, I decided to pick the Korres Daily Brightening Cleanser which claims to uncover luminous skin using a dual action cream containing cherry stones and sugar-citrus extracts.

Miranda's Notes:

Pros: After using the Korres Wild Rose Cleanser, my face did immediately feel fresher and brighter - although the exfoliating particles are a bit rougher, the cream works at removing impurities and dry skin while also moisturizing.  Korres claims that the Daily Brightening Cleanser can be used daily but even with my dry skin I found it to be too harsh - I tend to use this once or twice a week when I'm looking to refresh and improve my complexion.  The tube contains a lot of product so the $24.00 USD price tag is all right considering that the use will be spread throughout the week. The cleanser contains no parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, GMOs, Triclosan, or phthalates.  Overall, unlike several other exfoliators I've tried, Korres Wild Rose does not leave my skin dry and improves the luminosity of my complexion (if you have absolute dry skin or if you're looking for a skin "re-set" after this winter weather, the Korres Wild Rose Daily Cleanser would be perfect).

Cons: I've included the ingredients below because I've got issue with one of them - and that's the rose fragrance.  This Korres product did not need a fragrance because it's a cleanser that is washed off within minutes (can you sense my frustration).  There is no need to have a fragrance in such a product and definitely not a ton of it - when I was using this, the product got on my lips and it tasted as if I inhaled perfume, it is that strong.  I enjoy the Korres line because it is natural, so I found the fragrance out of place and unnecessary.  If you have sensitive skin that doesn't agree with fragrance, this product may not be for you - which is a shame considering the lack of bad chemicals and the effectiveness of the product.

Grade: 4/5
The Korres cleanser contains 5.0 fl. oz.- there are additional products in the Wild Rose line (Sephora recommends the Wild Rose mask which has rose petals)

Readers' Recommendations: I would love to try other exfoliating cleansers that do not dry the skin, so let me know what works for you.

Chanel Rouge Coromandel Swatches - Chanel Rouge Allure Review
Luxurious and sleek packaging from Chanel with the classic black and gold
The ultra fine golden sparkle running through the Chanel Coromandel lipstick are more visible here
Mackenzie's Notes:

My sister was kind enough to gift me the Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in Coromandel (#98) for my birthday, as she knows I am a red kind of gal and yet I wouldn't splurge on such a luxury lippy on my own.  I first stumbled upon this color as I was reading the November issue of Allure, in which Lauren Conrad is featured on the cover wearing this exact shade.  I just remember it looked so beautiful on her, and brightened up her whole complexion (Lauren Conrad also has a killer smile, which I bet helped too)! My sister purchased this lipstick from the Chanel counter at Macy's for $34 USD.  These Chanel Rouge Allure lipsticks are a new formula with "concentrated, ultra-thin pigments" which offer intense color with full coverage and a satin finish while also being comfortable on the lips.  The color is a red leaning orange (think a poppy red leaning redder), and has ultra fine golden sparkle running through it - this gives a nice dimension to the color and makes it more interesting without looking frosty.  This shade would look great on any yellow toned complexions and really just about anyone, so I encourage you to just try it on yourself! This lipstick is extremely pigmented and I enjoy the formula - keep reading below for more detailed thoughts on the Coromandel lipstick.

I included a look I created wearing and showcasing this lipstick, inspired by a pin up glam look.  The Coromandel color has a nice vintage and glamorous feel but is still a modern shade in its brightness and sparkle.  A simple cat eye with a bright red lip are a match made in makeup heaven.
The infamous Chanel logo on the bottom of the lipstick (I am wearing Romantique Shellac on my nails)
Packaging is interesting - one has to press the golden bottom part to pop the lipstick bullet out
Pros: Chanel Rouge Allure Coromandel has high and intense pigmentation (one coat is plenty) but it is still easy to clean up since it  doesn't stain immediately (having just bought the OCC Lip Tars, this is now a feature I cherish!).  Coromandel Glides on smoothly during application - Rouge Allure lipsticks are hydrating and very lightweight on the lips, this is one of the most comfortable lipsticks to wear.  I chose Coromandel because I found it modern and unique due to to its lovely color and golden sheen.  Overall, the Chanel Rouge Allure has a velvety to a soft shine finish, has no scent, and can be worn as a stain as well - Coromandel is a beautifully versatile color perfect for all occasions.

Cons: The price is high for one lipstick, but you really are paying for a great quality, luxurious packaging and the brand name.  A Chanel lipstick would be a lovely gift for a loved one (speaking from experience here!) as it is a high end, classical makeup product.  I expected the lasting power of the Rouge Allure to be longer, but the lipstick wears similarly to other lip products (if eating or drinking there is some transfer although not excessively). I did notice that the lipstick can get damaged because of the way it is packaged, specifically the popping mechanism - I have to unwind the lipstick all the way down before putting the cap on, otherwise the lipstick will get stuck in the cap.  Lastly, if you are comfortable with the Chanel price tag, it's definitely worth investing in Chanel Rouge Allure Coromandel.

Touch of Luxury: bright lips and sunny tips - YSL Coral Divin, YSL Rouge Volupte 112 Spellbinding Violet, YSL Rouge Volupte 11 Mysterious Red
Miranda's Notes:

As part of the HP + Intel + Project Runway Pin Your Style Contest, I had to consider what touches of luxury we often add to our routine. While we may have to work with lower (ahem, realistic!) budgets, I realize the small things make the biggest differences.  From a delicate perfume to a satin necklace, brightly colored lipstick, and classic ballet flats, we get to treat ourselves to touches of luxury.  The HP Pin Your Style Contest is in full swing - read below to learn more about the weekly challenges and how to enter.

YSL lipsticks are an easy way to elevate a whole look to "wow" - YSL has a whole range of textures and colors that can suit everyone (and I mean everyone).  Long lasting and moisturizing, these YSL lipsticks are a way to indulge and feel beautiful at the same time.  With spring finally here, I'm also ready to pair vibrant colored lipstick with a sunny, happy nail polish such as YSL Coral Divin.  Photo: YSL Coral Divin Nail Polish, YSL Rouge Volupte Spellbinding Violet, YSL Rouge Volupte Mysterious Red.
Touch of Luxury: statement jewelry and subtle perfume - Miss Dior Cherie and J.Crew Necklace
A few years ago, my fiance gifted me a J.Crew over-sized clear bead necklace with adorable satin bows and gold crown accents.  I may not be able to wear this day to day (and my current schedule doesn't allow it), but whenever I want my look to feel more luxurious, I always go back to this J.Crew necklace. When going out, I also tend to wear the fresh scent of Miss Dior Cherie, review here, because it is subtle and the main notes are sophisticated.  Accessorizing with bold jewelry and a sweet scent is my way of treating myself - J.Crew and Dior are just the right touches!
Touch of Luxury: Chanel eye glasses - Chanel gold and black
Talking about accessories, you may or may not know, I wear glasses almost daily.  And because glasses go on your face, everyday, ...and people see you, everyday..., I decided to invest in my absolute favorite - Chanel eye glasses with the signature Chanel braided chain sides.  While these Chanel glasses were quite pricey, I can't see myself ever replacing them - the Chanel glasses compliment my face and are comfortable while also being chic (and they help me see, hooray!).

Touch of Luxury: Two-toned flats for a sophisticated look - United Colors of Beneton flats
Running around DC has taught me that I absolutely need a sturdy, comfortable pair of shoes.  I like basic ballet flats, but at the same time, I tend to pick ballet flats with embellishments and geometric details.  These United Colors of Beneton flats were affordable, look professional, and are playful - my touch of luxury here is walking comfortably (girls should know that's the ultimate luxury!).

I like investing in purses and handbags because these never go out style, always fit, and are useful for any occasion.  Because I work in a professional setting, I tend to choose faux-briefcase style purses or clutches than transition from work day to happy hour (hehe).  This green olive briefcase clutch with detachable chain was given to me by my sister, Mackenzie - it's absolutely lovely!
Touch of Luxury: Briefcase structured clutch

Own Anti Aging Night Cream - Review

FTC Disclosure: product sent for consideration, opinions are all our own.
Own Skin Health - Refining Moisture Nigh Cream available at Ulta #OWNAtUlta
Miranda's Notes:

As you'll probably see from my previous post history, I love discovering and experimenting with new skincare products - everything from scrubs, exfoliators, lotions, serums, creams, and treatment lotions.    After reviewing the Own Anti Aging eye cream, and absolutely loving it, I was looking forward to testing the Own Renewing and Refining Night Cream.  Just as our bodies rest and recharge while sleeping, our skin is best treated and renewed at night.  I may skimp out on beauty routines throughout the day, but I always remember to focus on skin care at night.
Own products contain anti aging natural benefits and are cruelty-free
Pros: As I mentioned in my previous Own review, which you can read here, the Own line has a great mission statement to combat anti aging and care for skin with natural products and no bad chemicals. Own has several affordable skin health products that can fit different needs (and is accessible by being currently sold at Ulta).  The Own Renewing Cream is a refining moisture night cream that hydrates, enhances collagen levels, improves moisture retention, and boosts metabolism for softer and  smoother skin.  I definitely noticed softer skin and a brighter complexion - the Own night cream absorbs easily but there is a gel-like texture after applying.  I wasn't bothered by this but some may find it a bit oily - I've been using Own several nights in a row and no spots appeared.  The Own Renewing cream feels rich, luxurious, and is a great skin "treat" in the evening.  As a bonus, products from Own contain no fragrance, no parabens, and no sulfates.

Cons: Because this is an anti-aging treatment, the ingredients work to tighten skin - as with the Own Eye Cream, there was a tingling feeling and I could feel the Own Refining Cream working.  If you have sensitive skin, this effect may be irritating so I recommend testing the cream first.  I found the packaging simple and beautiful, but the jar application may not be sanitary.  Overall, I enjoyed the benefits of the Own Renewing Cream and look forward to the continued use results - I will update this post and the eye cream review in the next few days.

Grade: 4/5
The cream contains CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) technology, a plant-based ingredient
The Own cream is soft and moisturizing  with a gel-like texture once applied (as a quick note, that awesome dark rich nail color is Essie Luxedo)

Revlon Lip Butter Swatches and Reviews: Cupcake, Juicy Papaya, Sweet Tart, Creamsicle (left to right)
What can be said about Revlon Lip Butters that hasn't already been said? Well, I'm adding to the "lip butter dialogue" by reviewing and swatching my Revlon lip butter collection.  I ended up buying several of these products since they were first introduced by Revlon, but these four colors are my favorite lip butters ("buttahhas" if you fancy a more colloquial aka hilarious pronunciation).  I was also excited to try the Revlon Limited Edition Juicy Papaya lip butter from the Pacific Coast Collection by Gucci Westman.  This Limited Edition collection, which includes nail polish and blush sticks, is available at CVS, Ulta, and Target (yep, you can also read this as "Tarjhett").

Revlon has had some wonderful lip products recently, see my extensive collection here, and these new Limited Edition butters do not disappoint.  Given the unique formula and wide range of options, my top Revlon lip butter picks include bright and happy colors - Revlon Cupcake is a sweetheart pink perfect for everyday, Revlon Sweet Tart is a bright pinkish red best suited for a weekend date night, Revlon Creamsicle is the ideal nude lip with a touch of glossiness, and Revlon Juicy Papaya is an orange-toned coral that adds just a touch of "spring."
These Revlon colors work for fair skin and are perfect for every day wear (plus your lips get moisturized)
Miranda's Notes:

Pros: Revlon Limited Edition Juicy Papaya lip butter is a coral color with orange undertones - depending on your natural lip color, Juicy Papaya can also be bright orange or a warm pink (in the swatches below, I am wearing a bit of concealer in order to show the true color of the lip butter).  Based on research and several blog posts, I can confirm that the Limited Edition lip butter formula appears to be different from the permanent line - Revlon Juicy Papaya is sheerer and less sticky and glossy.  I actually find the new formula better and more forgiving on the lips as it doesn't settle in fine lines and it doesn't leave streaks.  Juicy Papaya is similar to other coral colors from the main line, but because of the ability to build up the color, Juicy Papaya is more unique and can be used for different looks.  From the lovely packaging to the beautiful color and moisturizing formula, Juicy Papaya is a "must have" Revlon lip butter.

Cons: Revlon Juicy Papaya differs in texture from other lip butters and it is much more sheer - it takes approximately three applications to build up to tube color. Because of this, Juicy Papaya tends to wear off quicker and does not last more than an hour.  Longevity isn't that much of an issue for me because I can just re-apply, this lip butter color is that pretty!

Galaxy Nails - Nail Art Tutorial

What's better than the universe on your digits - this is one of my favorite manicures to date!
Small details such as planets and stars can add infinite dimension to your manicure - make this as intricate as you'd like
 Mackenzie's Notes:

I have always been mesmerized by galaxy manicures, as I think the idea of small windows to the universe on my hands is... well, pretty awesome.  I was under the impression that this would be difficult to recreate, but to my surprise, it was actually one of the easiest manicures I've done! Everything is free form, no straight lines, mistakes can be covered and layered over, and the colors used will hint to a galaxy on their own.

I strongly encourage you to try this manicure as I think you'll be pleasantly surprised, both in how easy it easy to achieve and how lovely it will look.  I have included a materials list and two tutorials to depict two different shades of the galaxy.  Enjoy!

Materials used:
1 makeup sponge (the finer texture the better)
1 Qtip
Polish Remover (for cleanup)
Polishes - CORAL Colors Nail Polish - Pure Ice Spitfire, Kiss Nail Artist "White", Revlon Sunshine
Sparkle, Covergirl My Papaya, Soo Nails Purple, Sinful Colors Dream on, Seche Vite
                Topcoat.
              - BLUE Colors Nail Polishe - Kiss Nail Artist, Revlon Midnight Sparkle, Salon Perfect
Sparkling Sapphire, Revlon Superstitious, Sinful Colors Dream on, Soo Nails, Pure Ice
                Spitfire, Seche Vite Topcoat.

Every nail is different; the manicure is more interesting and versatile by illustrating a warm toned and cool toned galaxy
Polishes used for the Coral and Blue toned nails (materials listed in full above) - and yes, I need more polishes, my sister is keeping them all

Tricks for Tips:
The main idea behind this coral hue galaxy is to seamlessly blend the light white areas with the dark pink background color.  Keep your polish relatively light and use the pointed tip of your sponge.  Begin by sponging a white base followed by a light purple and coral to blend.  Add a yellow color in the middle of white area, to symbolize the center of the cosmic dust.  Sponge an iridescent blue nail polish around the edges of your nail to add more depth and create contrast.  Paint a supernova (starburst) by starting your lines from the center and dragging out; this will make the lines get thinner towards the ends, making them look as part of the universe and not  clunky. Add glitter and concentrate it around the cosmic dust to not overwhelm the design.

Tricks for Tips:
Begin by painting a dark base as the main galaxy color (black nail polish, indigo nail polish, etc). The main idea for this blue toned galaxy is to blend the light colored cosmic dust with this dark background.  Use purple, dark magenta, and blue to achieve this effect.  Keep the center of the cosmic dust the lightest, brightest white to imitate light.  Paint a planet by dipping a Q tip in your light blue and twisting it in place to achieve a sphere.  Repeat the action with a darker color on top to give dimension to the planet; finish it off by adding white around its edges as if it's illuminated. Concentrate glitter polish around the cosmic dust and top off with your favorite topcoat.
Sparkle adds the final touch to the manicure
Readers' Recommendations: I would love to see how your own galaxy nails turn out! Leave me some links if you decide to try this on your own. What other nail art ideas would you like to see me try next?

Benefit Dandelion Review - Benefit Dandelion Blush
Benefit Dandelion Blush (Brightening Powder)
Two weeks ago, I took an important exam which gets me closer to my attorney license.  The actual test was over in two hours, but the whole experience of traveling, getting a hotel room, driving to the test center, and signing in took approximately a whole weekend.  When my fiance and I got back it felt as if we've done a cross country excursion - it was "that" kind of a test.  Because I studied for days previously, we decided to go for a relaxing shopping trip and (surprise, surprise) I ended up purchasing the Benefit Dandelion blush from Sephora (my fiance especially loved the Dandelion flushed look).
Benefit includes a brush that is quite helpful (although a bit rough) - this brush is handy when traveling or need a quick re-application
Miranda's Notes:

Pros: With summer approaching in DC, the weather will be getting very swamp-like - and that's clearly not the ideal situation for wearing makeup.  Every time I walk around the city in ridiculously hot weather with the sun burning down, I think of the Indiana Jones scene with the melting face - ahhh, DC summers.  Because the melty-face is not the look I'm going for, I picked up the demure and delicate Benefit Dandelion blush.  Benefit powders are finely milled and apply lightly - while there may be some fallout in the pan and on the brush, Benefit Dandelion blends smooth and easy. Because of the texture, this powder lasts for the day but the color does tend to fade. The Dandelion color is not matte and it's not glittery either - there is just the perfect amount of rose gold shimmer that gives off a lovely glow. The color is a combination of complex mauves and pinks - if you're looking for a natural, glowing complexion, this Benefit Dandelion powder is the perfect fit.

Cons: I have fair skin and the color is visible in just two applications, but because of the fine texture, the Benefit Dandelion blush may not as bright on everyone.  In fact, Benefit advertises this as a brightening face powder, but for me, Dandelion is too pigmented to apply as powder.  This particular product includes parabens so I recommend checking the ingredients if you have sensitive skin.

HP + Intel: Project Runway "Pin Your Style" Contest - Travel in Style

Mackenzie's Notes
Traveling is a welcomed activity that usually means we get a small break from work, our usual routine, and the stressful daily do's. I enjoy traveling, as at the end of a long plane flight or bus ride, I am surrounded by my family and friends.  I have learned that traveling should be an enjoyable experience in itself, and learning how to packsmart can influence your vacation for the better.  You can have it both - comfortable yet stylish travel, with a variety of makeup looks and outfits - all without carrying lots of clunky luggage. Inspired by the HP + Intel + Project Runway: Pin Your Style contest, packing light and traveling in style can be chic, easy, and fun (be sure to enter and vote starting April 29 - more info below).
A pink dotted scarf is a perfect accessory for your luggage (yes, your bags need to travel in style too)
One helpful tip is to tie a unique ribbon around your luggage handle to help you keep track and recognize your luggage easily at the baggage claim - efficient and glamorous at the same time! A blazer, such as the Zara Basic blazer (above), is a versatile piece of clothing to include in your wardrobe as it dresses up any outfit - from the conference room to the patio cocktail hour, a structured blazer is the perfect choice.

Traveling in style also means picking the right items for your makeup bag (because bringing all your makeup collection and palettes is probably not the most efficient).  I recommend using a medium or large sized cosmetic bag so you can fit all your products into one place (nothing is more annoying than ten little baggies scattered throughout tiny compartments). I also usually carry a smaller bag in my purse for touch-ups and basic toiletries.

1. For the face, bring a long lasting concealer (Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer) and foundation (Clinique Stay Matte Foundation).  Be mindful of the weather where you'll be arriving - setting powder is a must for setting makeup when traveling in humid and hot climates.
2.  Try to select a cream blush (Stila Convertible Color Peony) for which you don't need a separate brush.  Cream blushes are easier to apply, easy to carry, and depending on the brand, tend to last longer than powder blushes.
3. Make sure to include an eyeshadow palette which can give you both day and night looks (Urban Decay Naked2 palette or Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette).  Bring an eye primer (Elf eye primer) to ensure long wear - add dual use brushes and a long lasting liquid liner (Wet n Wild Mega Last Liquid Liner), and you have all the tools necessary for different looks.
4.  For your lips, bring a light balm to apply liberally (Maybelline Baby Lips Peach), a natural color for the day (Covergirl Jumbo Gloss Berry Twist) and a full on dramatic color for nights out (Chanel Coromandel).

Makeup looks can be easily taken from day to night in a few easy moves - add an extra coat of mascara and use a statement lipstick
Because I tend to fall asleep left and right when traveling, I sport a more messy hairstyle, such as a fish tail braid, which can handle all the movement and still look chic. For a day look, I recommend keeping your makeup simple with a cat eye liner and a pretty berry shade for lips.  A fedora hat can make you look more put together while protecting you from the elements; similarly, a light chambray shirt is casual while also being fashionable.

If attending a cocktail party or a work event, I recommend amplifying your makeup day look for the evening by thickening your eyeliner, touching up with powder and more blush and finishing off with a bold red lip.  For the night look, I rolled the fishtail braid up into a bun and secured it with bobby pins for a classic and sophisticated hairstyle.

Travel Essentials to be prepared for any change in plans
So if you're looking to travel in style, you also need a few travel essentials extras (aside from your passport and tickets, of course).  Bring some stylish sunglasses for sun protection (and just in case the best concealer can't completely hide the jet lag).  Carry a moisturizer with SPF (Neutrogena Healthy Defense) to protect yourself from the sun, some travel size makeup remover wipes (LA Fresh) and a lovely smelling perfume to freshen up (Burberry Perfume).  I usually carry with me two necklaces to accessorize both casual and dressy outfits.  I paint my nails a pretty nude color (Essie Topless and Barefoot Polish) which goes well with my skin tone and is low maintenance.

Wearing IBD's gel nail polish in "Juliet"
Lastly, a small cross body bag can help you carry your travel essentials such as your phone, travel documents and more.  The long strap makes this purse easy to carry but you can also tuck in the strap to convert this bag into a sleek clutch.  Voila, the best transformer of them all.

For us, traveling in style means bringing the least amount possible while being fully prepared (and looking fab!) for whatever the trip may bring.  Starting April 29 to May 12, share your "travel in style" ideas or vote in the HP Project Runway contest by viewing the Pinterest board submissions on the Pin Your Style contest page.

Sally Hansen Nail Polish Swatches - Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Review
A way to rock the recent ombre and color blocking trends on your fingers
Mackenzie's Notes:

I was inspired to create a color block ombre manicure due to all the recent fashion runway (and hair) trends for this upcoming summer season.  A ombre color block manicure is a lovely way of sporting bright colors in a soft way.  I had lots of fun creating this nail art, and I hope you try achieving an ombre effect yourself, as it is easy to recreate and the results are "oh so cool."  I decided to use bright, complimentary Sally Hansen nail polish colors to achieve a vibrant color block.  The Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color are wonderful for nail art due to their opacity, pigmentation, quick dry formula, bold colors and their affordable price.  Sally Hansen polishes retail for approximately $3.99 a bottle at my local drugstore, and this allowed me to invest in lots of beautiful summer shades.  I'm gradually growing my Sally Hansen Collection as these polishes are hidden gems - great quality, lovely color choices, and affordable (who can turn that down!).

For this ombre color block nail art, you can change the colors however you wish, but keep in mind to use the same family of colors in your accents. Instead of the cheetah print, you can add lines, polka dots, or small cross marks depending on what look you're going for. I will include a list of polishes and materials used as well as a tutorial below.  Hope you enjoy!

Materials used:
1. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Polishes - Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow 360 Swatch, Sally Hansen Sun Kissed 150 Swatch, Sally Hansen Twisted Pink 240 Swatch, Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac 270 Swatch, Sally Hansen Blue Me Away 130 Swatch (such lovely and cute names!).
2. Cosmetic sponge
3. Nail polish remover and Q tip
The complimentary colors contrast each other in a bold way - perfect for bright summer manicure
You can interchange the cool and warm colors as you like - same with the blocks of color and patterns, as this design welcomes spontaneity
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Polishes: Mellow Yellow 360, Sun Kissed 150, Twisted Pink 240, Lacey Lilac 270, Blue Me Away 130  (left to right).  Be sure to view the Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Contest for more color ideas!
Tips and tricks: How to Create an Ombre Nail Polish Effect
Use a fine cosmetic makeup sponge to achieve the ombre nail effect - the finer the texture, the more seamless the blending. Have all your Sally Hansen polishes ready to go - in order and without the bottle caps on.  Layer your colors onto the sponge, slightly overlapping them - no need to be too careful as you'll repeat this 3 times and any mistakes will be covered - the first time you apply the sponge, the colors will be faded.  As you continue on with a second application, the colors become more opaque - simply add polish to the stripes, then the sponge to the nail, and repeat until you are happy with the result. Roll your cosmetic sponge from left to right to lay down the color; 'refill' the same spots with the same polishes and repeat over all the nails. Clean the stained area using a Qtip and top with your favorite topcoat to achieve a seamless ombre, color blocking effect!

Sugar skull nail art - Cinco de Mayo Nail Art

Mackenzie's Notes:

When my sister visited this past weekend, we realized that everyone was celebrating Cinco de Mayo with good food, good drinks, and good times.  While the week was a busy one for both of us, I wanted to join in the festivities by creating a nail look inspired by Cinco de Mayo.  I came up with a fun yet sophisticated look inspired by the rich imagery of Hispanic culture.  I chose red and green nail polish colors, but you can substitute for any vibrant polishes you may have available.  The base color can be any light color in your polish collection, as you don't necessarily need stark white as a base.  I have CND's shellac in "Cake Pop" as a base since I thought the pink base would give this manicure a cute twist.

As always, have fun with your manicure and I hope you all had a great time on Cinco de Mayo!

Polishes Used:
Revlon "Posh" 571, American Apparel "Port" 42010, Sinful Colours "Pink Forever" 713, Kiss Nail Artist "Black", Wet n Wild Mega Shine "Red" 414A

Top 5 Best Nail Polish Colors for Interviews - Neutral Nude, Light Pink, Sheer White, Power Red, Clear Coat

Interview Nail Polish - Advice Do's and Don'ts
Beautysets - neutral nail polish
Miranda's Notes:

Throughout law school, I've experienced quite a few job interviews and informational interview meetings.  In fact, I am excited because this whole week I am preparing for several interviews (fingers crossed!).  Between doing research, practicing responses, and identifying the "one and only greatest weakness," I have to pay attention at how I present myself.  While interviews are somewhat stressful, I always feel more confident when I know I'm not guilty of any faux-pas.  Prospective employers do pay attention to every little detail and expect a candidate with an impeccable presentation and excellent skills.  Just as an anecdote, one of my supervisors was definitely not impressed when an interviewee showed up sporting green nail polish and when another was wearing acrylic purple nails.

For this post, I picked the top five colors that I find are appropriate for a conservative interview.  I'm also including some "do's" and "don'ts" based on my experience and feedback from employers.
  • Do wear clean cut nails and don't have a distracting nail shape or overly long nails (pointy talons look better in editorials anyway).
  • Do try different colors to see what best suits your skin tone.
Beautysets - pink nail polish
  • Don't pick bright colors that distract from your actual interview and your responses - nails should look put together without saying "look, I did my nails!"
  • Don't wear an accent nail or nail art of any kind.
Beautysets - white nail polish
  • Do pick a sheer nail polish where you can built opacity with no streaks - sheers also help with application because you can never make a mistake (the polishes in this post are easy to apply for anyone and will look neat).
  • Do choose a nail polish that is of high quality and will not chip (we know how crazy interview time can get) - also, don't go to an interview with chipped nail polish.
Beautysets - red nail polish
  • Do wear a classic statement red color that is not too bright, too dark, or too orange (has to be just right!).  You may want to save this color for an informational interview - if in doubt, opt for  neutral or lighter polish.
  • Do pick the most neutral and natural shade if you have any doubt on what color to choose.
  • Don't wear textured nail polish or nail polish with a glitter or pearl finish (trends are best displayed outside the interview room).
Beautysets - clear nail polish
  • Do wear a long lasting clear top coat if you are not comfortable wearing a nail polish color - the top coat will make your nails look shiny and clean (and put together).
  • Do be confident during your interview! Good luck!
Readers' Recommendation:  Just like every font and line arrangement on a resume, paying attention to small details can help you look more presentable or just make you feel more relaxed.  Let me know you if have any questions on preparing for interviews or any additional advice (I'll add it to the post)!

Etude House Cookie Blush Review - Etude House Orange Cookie Blush Swatch
The cutest blush - Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in Orange Cookie
Miranda's Notes:

Time for a confession everyone - for how much contouring is promoted and lauded, I actually don't contour at all.  My sister is always telling me to try it for every day makeup and a few times, she's even given me a little makeover and tips on how to highlight and contour.  I am fair skinned so using bronzer doesn't look flattering on me, it looks more like a mismatched foundation shade (unless of course my sister does it, and then I look like Angelina Jolie...but who has the time and skills for that).  So based on this little confession, you can understand why I absolutely adore wearing blush - blush is shimmery (yay glitter!), blush is pink and coral (yay pretty colors!), and blush makes me look awake and refreshed (yay presentable!).
The soft applicator fits in the compact - the applicator is small so it's a bit difficult to handle
I picked up the Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in Orange Cookie because I adore the packaging of Etude House products, and because I wanted a unique orange blush color.  As you'll look through these photos, let's just accept that Etude House has the cutest and most frilly packaging - Pink Sith has the perfect explanation of what goes on at Etude House in creating Etude House products (it involves puppies, bows, bubbles, and hugs).

Pros: Etude House Cookie Blusher has a soft and fine texture that is easy to apply and easy to blend. While the adorable puff applicator is helpful, I found that an actual brush picked up the color and glitter sparkles much better. This Etude House color gives off a lovely bronzed glow and is likely to fit any skin tones.  The Orange Cookie color is surprisingly not that orange - this blush has pink undertones and the orange definition comes more from the gold glitter (see swatch below).  As I openly welcome and accept glitter in my life, this Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher is just perfect.

Cons: Because of the finely milled texture, Etude House blushes are not that pigmented and do not wear for a long time (neohh!).  Within three or four hours, I noticed the color was almost gone and I had to re-apply. The Orange Cookie compact is fairly small and easy to carry so I recommend having it nearby for some extra applications.

Stila Countless Color Pigments - "Acoustic" Swatches, Makeup Look and Review

Stila's Countless Color Pigment in "Acoustic" gives you a variety of color range between golds, reds and browns
Mackenzie's Notes:
I was visiting my sister in DC a few weeks ago, and lo and behold, it was also Sephora's 15% sale during Chic Week, so you know we stopped by and treated ourselves to some goodies.  My sister decided on a beautiful lilac Illamasqua blush, and I decided to try out a new release from Stila, as I am a big fan of their Stila Convertible Colors and wanted to try more products from the brand.  I purchased the Stila Countless Color pigment in the shade Acoustic (0.1 oz) from their Festival of Colors Summer 2013 collection for $22.  There are ten shades in total, including vibrant corals, pinks, greens and blues.  As I am a bit color shy I decided to go with Stila Countless Color Acoustic because of its two neutral colors but I was excited to try the coral red shade since I've seen several coral inspired makeup looks on the runway.  Stila's Acoustic includes three distinct colors: a golden warm vanilla shade (satin finish), a red orangey shade (matte finish), and a warm, plumy toned medium brown (the most pigmented shade, satin finish).

Stila Countless Color Pigments shadows are pressed and baked pigments, swirled together to achieve a variety of custom colors for many uses.  You can use each color individually as eyeshadow, mix two or swirl all three for custom colors in your daily makeup routine.  I enjoy mixing the red and golden shade to achieve a beautiful red toned blush and creating an ombre eyeshadow makeup look with the individual colors.  Stila recommends you apply the pigments with your finger or a sponge tip applicator,  and doesn't recommend wetting the pigments.  If the shadows get mixed together, swirl a fluffy brush over them and this will restore the colors back to their original intact state.

I will include my opinions on this product and an eyeshadow look I created using Stila's Countless Color Pigment in Acoustic.  I definitely had fun with this product and despite its cons, I will continue using it and enjoying it.
The Stila Pigments colors are divided relatively equally, but I recommend you check each compact's colors as they are all originals
The colors you can achieve using this Stila Acoustic compact (wearing Gel Polish IBD in Juliet)
Pros:  I enjoy the colors in the Stila Countless Color Pigments collection, as they are very fun and cool, and I especially enjoy the fact that I have three coordinating shades in one compact place.  This Countless Color collection contains a variety of colors, including several neutrals and more colorful colors.  The packaging is simple and easy to carry and I enjoy the idea of mixing the shades to achieve various colors.  I also enjoyed having the chance to use the pigments as eye shadows and also blush (or bronzer if I'm feeling bold).  I'm glad Stila included a variety of finishes in each compact to keep the looks dimensional.  This specific color combination is lovely, as it is understated enough to wear to work and during the day but with a subtle kick of sexy that people will notice.

Cons: Unfortunately, I expected the Stila Countless Color Pigments to be very pigmented or pigmented enough to show up well, but I was disappointed in their saturation.  I am afraid this will not be up to par for many of you lovely ladies (especially for this high price), as you might have other dupes to substitute for these colors.  The packaging is small, so each color is relatively small and hard to access in its pure state, especially in the recommended ways.  I wish I could use a brush to pick up the colors and wet them for extra pigmentation and efficiency, and it is a bit annoying and cumbersome since I can't do that.

Grade: 3/5

A pretty simple look I wore to work and received many compliments on it!
Stila swatches on eye primer: (L) All shades mixed, Gold shadow, Gold mixed with Red, Red, Red mixed with Brown, Brown, Brown mixed with Gold
After mixing the shadows, you can swirl a brush to return the pigments back to their original state (This wastes a bit of product but I rarely have to do this)

Strawberry Nail Art - Essie Spring Collection 2013 Essie Madison Ave-Hue Swatch, Essie Resort Collection 2013 Essie First Timer Swatch, Essie Snap Happy Swatch
Strawberry Nail Art - I used pink and red but feel free to alternate different colors
Miranda's Notes:

When my sister, Mackenzie, visited a few weekends ago, I asked her to help me with some cute nail art ideas -  my nails were short so I didn't have much to work with but wanted to use my new nail polish colors from the Essie Spring Collection and the Essie Resort Collection. Just in time for warmer weather and outside activities, my sister recommended fruit inspired nail art.  These adorable strawberry and cherry nails are easy to create, are perfect for shorter nails, and can be done with any color combination.

Essie polishes dry fast and are overall easy to work with when creating nail art.  Essie Madison Ave-Hue and Essie First Timer were some of my favorites because of the unique colors and sparkly finish.   My colorful strawberry and cherry nails were the "cherry on top" to a lovely weekend!
Nail art for short nails - emphasize length by using simple designs
Tutorial on creating strawberry design:
1. Apply a base color polish that will be the main color of the strawberry - I picked red and pink (but who says we can't have purple and yellow strawberries).
2. Draw the leaf design at the base by combining different green polishes - vary the designs to add depth to the nail art.
3. To create the strawberry seeds, add several mismatched elongated black dots.
4. Wait for the nail art to dry, and apply a long lasting top coat like Seche Vite
5. Optional: go strawberry picking with your strawberry nails!

Rock Your Hair - Hair Care Products Review
Disclosure: product sent for consideration, opinions are all our own.

Beautiful and bold packaging - pink and rhinestones
Miranda's Notes:
We've all had bad hair days - those days when hair is messy even though we washed it the night before, bangs are all over the place, frizzy-ness sets in, and everything we do, just makes the whole look worse.  Yep, those kind of days.  Thankfully, there's always available products that can help fix bad hair and just make our day better.  For the past month, my sister and I had the opportunity to try several products from Rock Your Hair.  Rock Your Hair is a brand developed by Michael O'Rourke who also created Big Sexy Hair.  From the products' formula to the bright pink packaging and the wonderful customer service, the whole philosophy behind Rock Your Hair is having big, bold hair - all while using affordable, professional-grade hair care items.

We both definitely found some favorites and look forward to using more Rock Your Hair products because who doesn't love voluminous, bouncy, shiny hair!  Keep posted because next week my sister will be featuring Rock Your Products in a hair style tutorial.
Sulfate-free and paraben-free hair care
Rock Your Hair Big Hair Rocks Shampoo and Rock Your Hair Big Hair Rocks Conditioner Available for $17.00 / 10.5 oz
These two Rock Your Hair products, available online, were absolutely amazing - my hair was soft, shiny, bouncy, had more definition, and overall looked healthier.  Whenever I try different shampoo or conditioner products, I notice a lot of dandruff (the horror!) - in fact, I've stopped using drugstore brand shampoos because my hair is a mess after using the products.  These two Rock Your Hair products had no negative effects on my scalp or hair - I was thoroughly impressed on how my fine hair appeared less thin and flat.  Added bonus, Rock Your Shampoo and Conditioner have no sulfates or parabens so the formula is safe for all hair types.  If you're still on the look-out for a shampoo that actually does the job at cleansing, makes hair healthier, and also works with sensitive scalp, you should definitely try these two products.

Rock Your Hair Bombshell Big Hair PowderAvailable for $17.00 / 0.9 oz
The Rock Your Hair Bombshell Powder, available here, is a talc and micah based powder that is meant to provide boost, shine, and texture.  The powder can be applied directly to the hair roots or worked through with your hands.  I actually found that this did not add volume to my hair and also made my bangs stick together - but one woman's problem is another's solution, so this powder is better suited to provide texture. When I used this Rock Your Hair powder on my hair ends, my hair had that messy on-the-beach look to it.  This powder doesn't turn hair white, is lightweight, and is perfect for definition.
Grade: 4/5
Rock Your Hair Miracle Leave in Conditioner Weightless Detangler Available $20.00 / 7.5 oz.
The Rock Your Hair Leave in Conditioner is formulated with soy, wheat, and oat proteins in order to reinforce hair from shaft to the ends while providing moisture and shine.  Unfortunately, this was my least favorite product - the product made my hair sticky and greasy. I did not notice any detangle benefits, and my hair felt more heavy and slick (big no, no!).  Lastly, this product also has a strange, strong smell that lasted quite a bit - I saw some improvement in split-ends but the negatives outweigh the positives for this product.
Grade: 2/5
Rock Your Hair Size Matters Big Volume Root Lift Available for $20.00 / 13 oz
The Rock Your Hair Root Lift, available here, was a welcomed addition to my arsenal of hair care products - using this product before blow drying helped my hair be less frizzy, have definition, and have volume as well. While the product doesn't seem to last as long - think a couple of hours - the Rock Your Hair Root Lift would be perfect for an event where you have to sport that big, voluminous hairdo.
Grade: 4/5

Rock Your Hair Spray It Hard Big Volume Hairspray Available for $22.00 / 10 oz
Remember when I mentioned earlier I found a new favorite hair care product? Well, that favorite product is the Rock Your Hair Spray It Hard Big Volume Hairspray.  This Rock Your Hair hairspray, available here, is a product you discover and know you'll use for a long time to come.  The hairspray does it all - it holds hair together without looking like you have hairspray on, it doesn't leave behind white residue (beauty pet peeve of mine!), is long lasting, and has no flacking or stiffness. If you use this on your hair to hold it a certain way, be sure that your hair will stay that way flawlessly.  Because my hair is very fine and wispy, Rock Your Hair hairspray provides flexibility to the hair and tames fly-aways while also adding intense volume.  If you try anything from Rock Your Hair, I definitely recommend this product.

ELF Cosmetics Store - New York ELF Flagship Store

ELF Store New York Opening - ELF Flagship Store
In April, ELF Cosmetics opened a standalone flagship store where customers can swatch ELF products, peruse organized displays of makeup, enjoy complimentary make overs from professional makeup artists, and invest in quality makeup without spending one's life savings.  The new 50 square foot store is located in Manhattan at 741 Broadway near Astor Place and is easily accessible by subway.

When I came to New York a few weekends ago, my sister and I decided to visit the new ELF Cosmetics store and see if we could find some new must-have products.  For only a mere $25 USD we walked away with a  lot of makeup for both of us (posts coming up!) - see some store photos below and read our thoughts on ELF's grand opening of a flagship store.
ELF Studio Store entrance (for make up lovers, this is like staring at a bakery window display full of treats)
ELF Studio Store set up - organized aisles on either wall side and central island featuring ELF eye shadow palettes
Mackenzie's Notes:
I have not tried many products from ELF as they are mostly available at Target in store and online at eyeslipsface.com. I am not big on online shopping and Targets are rare in New York, so I was so excited to visit the new flagship store on Broadway and Astor Place in the East Village (which is steps away from my gym, making it so convenient to visit).  I finally got the chance to check out some of ELF's most popular items in person (such as blushes, brushes, and baked products) - even though these products are very inexpensive, I still like to know I am investing in quality items and this ELF store made it possible for me to do so.  I believe ELF has some wonderful products for their value and some misses - this store will steer you away from those misses.

While ELF had thousands of products listed on their website, the store carries more recent releases so do keep that in mind.  Also, they sell out of their best sellers and most popular shades quite fast and take two weeks to restock them (on Thursday, mind you, I asked!) - this can be a bit frustrating if you really are in a time crunch visiting NYC and want to grab your favorite product.  I loved some of the things I walked away with, have a new Holy Grail blush (Baked Blush in Peachy Cheeky) and foundation brush (Powder brush), as well as other lovely products for an incredible price.  I love the fact that the new ELF store gives the experience of a Sephora - that of swatching, trying on colors, and plain old having fun with make up.  While $20 might only get me one small makeup product at Sephora, I can walk out with a brand new make up routine to try and experiment with from the Elf store (that's what's so great about this brand and the new flagship store!). Go check it out, you may just find your favorite new product!

Miranda's Notes:
How many times have you walked into a store, found something you loved, and walked away sadly (a la Arrested Development) because that something was too expensive? Yup, too many times. The new ELF store in Manhattan gives you the chance to discover something you love and actually buy it - prices range from $1 lip glosses to $3 blushes and $5 foundations.  With different sections set up on either side of the store, I had the opportunity to swatch various ELF products and did not have to wonder whether the product would work for me.  That evening, I bought the new ELF tinted lip balm with SPF, a rose blush, an eyelid primer, and a gel eye shadow - and I look forward to more affordable purchases.

I found the customer service representatives helpful, but I did notice the store was a bit short staffed.  Overall, the ELF store was clean and each section had sanitizing and cleansing products.  There was a "wall of fame" product display with eye shadow pencils and lip glosses but because of the packaging these could not be swatched (so do your blog research homework if you're interested in any of these).
ELF nail polish display and the ELF blushes display
Beautiful light fixtures and colorful check out counter
The customize section allows you to pick and combine your own eye shadow colors (or you could just purchase some big and small ELF palettes)
My sister and I both enjoyed our ELF Studio shopping experience and look forward to many more visits!

Best Drugstore Blushes - Top 7 Blushes for an Affordable Price
Milani Blush, NYX Blush, Maybelline Blush, Wet n Wild Blush, ELF Blush, Physicians Formula Blush, Joe Fresh Blush

Miranda's Notes:
My favorite beauty item for summer is a colorful and shimmery blush. I may skip mascara when humidity is at an all time high, I may forget to apply a lipstick, or I may not even fully use concealer - but I always remember to apply blush.  The correct blush color brightens the face, creates a flushed look, and adds to the simple and natural look for summer.  My criteria for picking a summer blush is a product that is colorful and sunny - think a pastel pink, a matte coral, or a shimmery peach.  Keeping in mind the dreaded heat (if you've ever lived in DC or NYC, you know what to expect!), I also opt for products that are pigmented, do not smudge easily, and are long lasting.

For this post, I picked the top seven best drugstore blushes for summer - I've tried several brands but these are my absolute favorite and come at an even better price.
Beautysets - best drugstore blush
Best Blushes for Summer - Physicians Formula, Maybelline, Wet n Wild
Best Drugstore Blushes:
1. Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow Blush $13.95
2. Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush $6.45 (we recommend Rose Petal)
3. Wet n Wild Color Icon Blusher $3.99

Sometimes, it can be difficult to pick a blush color that works for your skin tone - there are many options available but be sure to first research the brand and look for swatches.  Keep in mind that the blush color in the pan may not be as bright and the sheerness can vary.  You should also decide ahead of time whether you are looking for a shimmer finish, glow, matte finish, or a powder or cream blush. Keep in mind that drugstores often allow returns even if an item has been swatched so you have the chance to purchase and try various products (just check with the retailer). Above all, pick a blush color that compliments your skin tone and makes you feel lovely in the summer sunshine!
Beautysets - best drugstore blushes 2
Best Blushes for Summer - NYX, ELF, Milani, Joe Fresh
Best Drugstore Blushes:
4. NYX Powder Blush $5.50
5. Milani Baked Blush $7.99
6. Elf Studio Baked Blush $3.00 (we recommend Peachy Cheeky)
7. Joe Fresh Cream Blush $8.00 (we recommend Melon)

Mackenzie's Notes:

For my birthday this year my boyfriend surprised me with a lovely three month subscription to Ipsy, a monthly beauty bag subscription which curates 5 deluxe and full sized beauty products (ranging from skin care, perfume, makeup, etc) to give beauty enthusiasts the opportunity to discover and try out new companies and products.  Ipsy, formerly known as MyGlam, was founded by Michelle Phan and other YouTube beauty gurus; after having a rocky start as MyGlam, Ipsy seems to have become a great subscription service with great products, an amazing value and wonderful customer service.

I have enjoyed having this service and chose to continue being subscribed to them as I have been a very happy customer!  I wanted to share with you the most recent bag in May 2013, "Spring Fling", since I was so happy with it and have officially become an Ipsy fan.  I will include mini reviews of the products and the prices for each.

You can subscribe to Ipsy monthly for $10 (excluding tax depending on your state), yearly or gift three months; your bag will be delivered to your front step free of charge.  It is easy to sign up and an introductory beauty quiz will decide what products you receive in your future bags.  You can click on our referral link here to sign up if you wish (when two people sign up we will get a bonus item in our next bag) or on the ipsy.comwebsite.  Hope this helped and I highly recommend this subscription service!

Ipsy May 2013 "Spring Fling" TOTAL - $51.49

All products included in the May 2013 Spring Fling bag (pretty bow excluded!) Pacifica Roll on perfume, Mirabella Sheer Colour Lipstick, NuMe Hair Serum, Yaby Concealer, Zoya Neely polish
Zoya polish - Neely Swatch - two coats applied, no topcoat
Zoya "Neely" - $8 (0.5 oz, full size) - Zoya Neely Swatch

I have never tried a Zoya polish, and I was so excited when this full size polish in "Neely" was included in my bag.  Zoya Neely is an antique mint color (leaning more green with hints of blue) from their Lovely Spring 2013 collectionFormula was opaque in two coats, had great shine, good consistency, but I thought the brush was a bit on the narrow side, making application a bit difficult.  All in all, love this Zoya polish for summer!

Mirabella Colour Sheer in "Daydream" - applied 3-4 coats for this opacity
Mirabella Colour Sheer "Daydream" - $22 (0.11 oz, full size)

The Mirabella Colour Sheer lipstick in "Daydream" is a lip product with a sheer, moisturizing formula based on mango butter which retails for $22 on mirabellabeauty.com.  The color is truly sheer, and is a cool pink tone with some slight shimmer.  I enjoy the formula and sturdy packaging, but the color is a bit too cool toned and frosty for my skin tone.  Also for the price, I wish the lipstick had more pigmentation.

Yaby concealer in "Honey" - swatch on left, blended out on right
Yaby Concealer "Honey" - $4.85 (3.50 g, full size)

The Yaby concealer in Honey was the third item included.  As you can tell it is yellow based and too dark for my skin tone for a concealer.  I though the color would cancel out the blue in my under eye circles but it was just too dark even for that.  The formula seems quite pigmented (medium to full coverage) and is a matte finish and feels silky to the touch.

Pacifica perfume "Island Vanilla" - size of the perfume and roller ball, very user friendly and convenient
Pacifica Perfume "Island Vanilla" - $12 (.33 oz, full size)

This Pacifica roll on perfume has notes of vanilla, honey-jasmine, and a touch of fruitiness against a base of tea.  I usually can't wear perfume as it is too overpowering, but I love this scent!  The roll on allows you to control how much to wear and where to apply it.  Also it's a great size for traveling or  to throw in your purse, and 100% vegan.

NuMe Finishing Serum for 'polishing' hair
NuMe Finishing Serum - $4.79 (.33 oz, sample size)

This is a very generous sample size of a hair serum which is meant to condition and add shine to hair.  Packaging is nice as it comes with a dropper to apply to hands and then apply to hair.  Silky to the touch jelly consistency, but I need to use it more to test its abilities!

Volumizing Hair Powder - Got 2B Powder'ful Review

Disclosure: product sent for consideration, opinions are all our own.
As part of a Bzz Agent campaign, I recently had the chance to try the got2b Powder'ful volumizing hair powder from Schwarzkopf.  My hair is thin and very fine, so if I ever have the chance to have big beautiful hair, be sure I'll try whatever product comes my way.  The got2b Powder'ful product advertises hair volume in 10 seconds - with such a bold claim, I was excited to see what this little powder could do!
Review of got2b volumizing styling powder
Miranda's Notes:

Pros: The got2b Powder'ful product is a very strange chemical concoction - I'm imagining the product developers in white lab coats, surrounded by beakers and fog, saying "it's aliveee!" when creating the Powder'ful. The tube itself is light and the powder is similar to finely ground salt - but when you apply the product to your hair roots or in your palms, the powder turns into a liquid-like substance (I told you it's different).  Aside from my fascination with its texture, the got2b Powder'ful volumizing hair powder is perfect for creating big hair - the powder add strength to the hair follicle, raises the roots, and does not leave any white marks or residue.  When applying, I flip my hair upside down and add the product directly on the hair - the results are immediately visible.  I ended up giving my mom one of these because she has short hair and is always looking for more volume - she also absolutely loved it!

Cons: The got2b hair powder helps with volume tremendously but within two hours, I noticed my hair becoming limp - while the results are still there, the effect is not that long lasting.  My biggest gripe with this product though, is that it tangles hair, and I have difficulty combing through after adding the powder. To solve for this, I recommend applying after you've set your hair style.

Grade: 4/5
The got2b Powder'ful hair powder - adds texture without looking greasy and lifts roots for volume
The product is dispensed via a top sifter
