Wet n Wild 2% Milk Review and Swatches
Paisley Nail Art - using nude and neutral colors highlights the pattern without being too distracting
Miranda's Notes:
There's never enough time in a day - and there's always so much to do.  My sister, Mackenzie, has been quite busy with grad school interviews, work, and new paintings.  I'm very proud of her awesome accomplishments, and hoping she'll knock out these upcoming interviews which are at some amazing universities on the East Coast (yay! she worked so hard).  So between research, painting, fielding recruiters, and practicing, I've also been bugging her about some new blog content.

I know we've mentioned it before, but doing our nails allows us to relax, stop thinking about errands, and have fun with color - so for a new post, Mackenzie created a paisley nail art manicure. Specifically, Mackenzie chose a neutral palette accentuated with intricate swirling details.  The pattern was inspired by the J. Crew Spring 2013 Ready to Wear Collection (because my obsession with J. Crew continues) - paisley and florals are strong patterns especially when paired with bold spring colors, but this neutral manicure is the perfect complementary accent. I absolutely love the final product and may even attempt recreating it myself as the nude design is even perfect for the office and for a week-day date.
Manicure with a touch of sophistication
Mackenzie's Notes: (this Wet n Wild MegaLast 2% Milk Nail Polish review will be short and sweet)

Pros:  I adore neutral colors on nails for that  perfectly clean yet polished look. So when this Wet n Wild nail polish was on sale, and was already priced at $2.00, I knew I had to have it.  The Wet n Wild polishes apply easily because of the wide brush, dry fast, and are long lasting.  I did this paisley nail art on Saturday, and the manicure is still looking as new.

Cons: The Wet n Wild 2% Milk color is a bit sheer, so the color became opaque only after three applications.  I don't really count this as a negative though because the polish can be layered to create different looks and for jelly-sandwich glitter nails (that's a mouthful!). While Wet n Wild is starting to add more colors to their nail polish line, the MegaLast polishes are absolutely great quality at an even better price.
