But because I still have to appear presentable, I always rely on Maybelline Color Tattoos for a "I'm ready to work and accomplish things" look. Maybelline Color Tattoos have gained quite the popularity in the beauty community, but I did not actually try the products until the Maybelline Gilded in Gold Holiday 2013 collection. My Color Tattoo collection is tiny but I get tremendous use out of my Limited Edition Shades (yes, they're that good). The Color Tattoos are cream based eye shadows that can be applied with a brush or with your finger. For me, application is the main selling point as the Color Tattoos formula blends easily, is pigmented, and can be sheer or strong based on preference. All Color Tattoos can be used as a base for powder shadows (and they perform wonderfully), but I prefer the simpler and time-saving sole application.
Maybelline Color Tattoo Nude Pink Limited Edition (swatch above) is a matte pink beige that depending on the light conditions has purple tones. Nude Pink is the perfect color to brighten and open up sleepy eyes - the shade is almost nude and mimics a concealer. The Nude Pink shade is one of the Color Tattoos that do not crease at all as the formula is thicker than other Color Tattoos. I apply Nude Pink all over the lid using my finger, pop some mascara, and voila, I actually look like I got ready. Nude Pink Color Tattoo was a part of the Holiday 2013 Maybelline Limited Edition collection.
Maybelline Color Tattoo Matte Brown Limited Edition (swatch above) is a deep chocolate brown that is a universally flattering shade. Matte Brown adds depth to the eyes and a bit of color - surprisingly, despite its strong pigmentation, this shade is also easy to blend and I'm confident using it all over the lid. Matte Brown Color Tattoo was also a part of the Holiday 2013 Maybelline Limited Edition collection.
Maybelline Color Tattoo Nude Compliment Limited Edition (swatch above) is a grey-tinted taupe with a sheen finish (this Color Tattoo does not actually contain shimmer but rather has a metallic finish). Nude Compliment is part of the Maybelline Dare to go Nude Spring 2014 Collection. Side note here, this Dare to go Nude collection is what a natural-makeup-loving-girl's dreams are made of - I also picked up a Master Glaze blush and two of the Maybelline Limited Edition Buffs lipsticks in Ravishing Rose and Barely Bronze. Nude Compliment does crease a bit but nothing offensive as some other cream eye shadows out there. This shade is quite complex and can look differently per person (thus, it's another Maybelline winner!).
Although these Limited Edition shades may difficult to procure, I've linked to Amazon where you can purchase quite similar neutral shades from the permanent Color Tattoo line. Priced affordably at approximately $5.00, these Maybelline goodies are popular for a good reason. The vibrant and long lasting Color Tattoo eye shadows are perfect for no-fuss application and a speedy makeup routine.
Stay Pretty, Miranda M.
